Team Coaching

For almost all software developers, you do most of your work as a member of a team. Even when you're working in your cubicle, you still have responsibilities to the other people on your team, and they depend on you for your success. In most situations, teams can accomplish a great deal more than a random collection of individuals.

Any Team Can Improve

I hope that you're lucky enough to work on an efficient, friendly, integrated team; where team members support each other and take pleasure in each other's successes. But any team, even a high performing one, can operate better by reducing internal frictions and learning better collaboration and conflict management skills. I can help your team to a new level by working closely with you to increase your team's productivity.

And Some Teams Need Help

What can you do when an entire team is in difficulty: when personalities are rubbed raw and progress has come to a halt? By this point, it's too late for team training or team building exercises, because the level of distrust overwhelms both those approaches. You need a new approach that can help the team heal itself and find a new equilibrium that restores trust and respect, so that they can begin working to their full potential.

How I Can Help

I can offer a solution: coaching for the entire team, aimed at helping you reach a new internal stability and new ways of dealing with the friction that is present in all teams. I work individually with team members, and with the team as a whole, to help them settle on a shared goal and agree on a set of behaviors that foster mutual respect and cooperation. Then, I'll stay with that team while the new culture settles into place and they all adapt to it. Whether this process takes days, weeks or months, I'll will continue to remind the team members of their new commitments and help them internalize the new team culture.

Check Me Out

Even if your team is doing well and you're happy as a team member, it couldn't hurt to contact me to talk about how things could be improved. I'll be happy to come meet with your team and talk about your work process and the inter-personal dynamics of the team. Even in one meeting, there's a good chance that I can identify a few things that will improve your team's efficiency and culture.
